Does anyone of any suppliers who keep this tartan in stock (besides the aforementioned Sportkilt, of course.)

    Best regards,

    Jake

The California tartan is the official tartan of the Black Bear Pipe Band in South Lake Tahoe. I believe they placed one of those 30-yard orders some time back in order to have the tartan on hand for new band kilts. PM me if you want me to run down their supplies or supplier.

Alan's suggestion of a group order may be the way to go - and it doesn't of necessity have to be F&K, except to support an XMarksTheScot member.

To echo Alan and my conversation from a few months ago, we can get the CA tartan in 16 oz wool... if you want a kilt, we can make a 5 yard wool or Premier from it. If you'd like the material, it's $65 / yard.

This started as an accidental double post, so I decided to make it useful by providing a link I discovered with more info about the California Tartan, including its Legislative History here

    Best regards,

    Jake

PM Rocky about acquiring some California State Tartan. I know I will be wanting 2 yards in the Spring. There are a couple others of us who've talked about it, too.

It's listed on the kiltstore tartan finder, but I have no idea how long that order would take.

If the "regular mills" can't supply us, then if 5-6 guys get together maybe we can get a special order done through Fraser and Kirkbright.
