I have to agree with P1M on this. I have already voiced this opinion in a couple of other threads.One other thing I could add is to coordinate your hose. Take a color out of the tartan you are wearing and match to that. So, with any given tartan you could probably draw out at least three colors to match hose to.

As to wool hose... They are going to last you the longest. I bought a pair 25 years ago that I still wear. Yes, really, no kidding. You take care of them they will last you that long.

Last winter I took up knitting to make my own. Helps pass the time, very relaxing and meditative not to mention you get to excersize some creative energy. Probably made half a dozen pair of them. They are great. Feel good and I have something I wanted that noone else will have. Besides, it is an easy thing to do sitting around watching television or on long train commutes etc... Do I worry about what other people think... not really. ( I am 6'4" tall and 250 pounds I don't have to worry about it.)

Just do it. so many other guys on this forum are taking up thier creative talents to create some awesome things! I am continually amazed at the talent in this group. I encourage all of you to try your hand at some of these things. You would be surprised at what you can accomplish if you only put yor mind to it.
