The closer you get to Wash. D.C. the fewer drivers ther are that have ever driven in snow. My brother dated a woman stationed at Ft. McNair that grew up in California. She had never seen it snow. Well, one new years eve several years ago, we were partying at my sisters cabin in southern Md. Brothers date was running around in the snow for about a half hour until we dragged her back into the house. 22 degrees is just toooo cold for shorts and a t shirt. But we did have a great horseback ride in the snow the next morning.

Virginia does not have a monopoly on those who cannot drive in snow. Even in Kansas, the IQ of the driver is usually inversely proportional to the depth of the snow.

The Lake Tahoe/Reno area is full of non-drivers when the white stuff falls. You can tell the out-of-towners by the look of panic on their faces as they slide by you sideways, vehicle at a right angle to the flow of traffic!

    Been there! Done that!

I lived in Tahoe, drove to work in 2 ft. of snow without chains with no problem! (in a Dodge Colt Hatchback)
Well, there are those everywhere, as we can see that are afraid of driving in inclimate weather, I guess we just need to smile as we pass!

Kind of like the looks we get when kilted!
