When I do not get any smiles or thumbs up, then I am sad. Wear it with dignity and respect, and no one will think less of you.

I just never know because the comments come from other people and it depends on how interested, frisky, shocked, brave, or curious they are.

In my little rural town the locals are used to it, but the tourists aren't. Now down the road in Colorado City the polygamists won't say anything, but their eyes about pop out of their heads...especially the kids.

Probably have received the most positive comments from high school age Caucasian boys and high school age Navajo girls. Go figure.

And here's something. Now that cold weather is here and I'm wearing the hand sewn traditional kilts more I seem to get even fewer comments. Guessing because they look like what folks expect kilts to look like. The solid and lighter weight contemporary tartans may invite more curious comments because they're not like the hand sewns.

    All pure specualation.

I do know that when I don't get comments for a few days I lose my edge and when a smart comment comes along I usually can't get my response out in a timely manner.
