I was going to suggest those socks from Townsend and Son but since I've never had any real experience with them, I didn't want tp suggest them. Glad to finally hear from someone who has a pair and can speak from experience.

Thor-lo also makes socks designed for use with chest waders. They should fit over the mightiest calf and still give you a double fold-over.

They will probably be a little bit more, but I couldn't tell you a price right now. Still working out the details with our supplier!

That's a pretty tall ankel, so you are pretty much obligated to wear boots with those. Still a valid option for casual hiking wear.
