    St.Andrews Day

That time of year again, how do you plan to spend it?

Last year I organised a BBQ at my place, had the local Pipe Band come, great time.
This year I'm taking the easy way out and attending a function organised by the St.Andrews Soc., a formal dinner, Prince charlie style. Should be fun.

Hope your plans work out well.

I plan on making my first kilted foray into the office. I've done it for a couple of off-site meetings but not to the Atlanta Federal Center.

Unfortunatly, I'll be in DC for a sales planning session and won't be able to get kilted. BUT, the following week I'll be down in Orlando for a trade show where BAE has a Scotch and haggis tasting every year and I WILL be kilted for that!

Don't know what I will be doing but will certainly be kilted the whole day!

We've had a busy weekend attending the St. Andrew's Day festivities, they are held early to work with the Thanksgiving holiday here in the US. Below is a picture of my wife and dressed for the St. Andrews Dinner Dance this past Saturday night. We attended the Kirkin' at church yesterday and a great haggis and smoked salmon lunch after the service. They served beef stew for those folks who were not ready for the haggis with currant and whisky sauce. It was a fun filled weekend.

Off to the St. Andrew's Dinner Dance!

The hose in the photo are off-white, the lighting makes them look like they are oatmeal.

I had been hoping to have a party as both my name and my room mate's name (who claims Scottish heritage) is Andrew where I could also unveil my kilt to my friends but as I have very little money (bought a plane ticket to Scotland and dental work) and my kilt has been delayed I don't think I'll be doing anything.

Perhaps I'll cook some mince or stew and make some soup. That's as close as I can get to Scotland on a budget.
