You can get a very negative response in England too. I remember a couple of years ago being invited to the Mayor's reception in the town where I work. I went along in my kilt outfit (as always) and one of the women councillors asked "Why are you wearing a kilt?". I said "Because I'm Scottish" and she replied "Yes I know that, but why are you wearing a kilt?". :confused: Hello?!!!!!!
I would have replied "why are you a councillor?"
The logic (or rather lack of it) is the same!
