    The Culloden Walk

Today a co-worker gave me a couple of pamphlets about The Culloden Walk. I thought some one here might find it of interest, so I thought I'd forward the web address.

    http://www.cullodenwalk.org.uk/

Hope this might be of interest to somebody.

    The Culloden Walk

What a brilliant idea. I will gladly start with £10.00. Do we have an offer of someone to coordinate this

Lose your head over that? No way! Hmmm, let me see, how does one go about banning a moderator?

Surely, you did mean to say "I", rather than "we", right? Right??

We're not going to coordinate this kind of program here. When the deadline is approaching and everyone has donated and you are still far short of the goal, then what are you going to do? You've got funds from people in different countries and you are trying to handle conversions and refunds and no, no, no, we're not going to go down this road. Been there, done that.

If somebody feels up to the task, then set it up on your site and insert a link to the donation page in your signature, here on X Marks. It will be your baby and I wish you the very best of luck with it.

Freelander, take a look at my latest project.

 I'll get back in line .. The idea came to me in a drunken haze. I've got to much on to co-ordinate such an undertaking
However it's a great idea to sponsor a stone

You would have thought that they would have allowed graves (accents)above letters for Gaelic inscriptions - of course it might have helped if they'd had the stones made in Scotland !

Rab, are you saying the National Trust is marketing stones that are crafted outwith Scotland?!?

Never mind, I just found it. Nice of them to tuck that bit away. No great surprise, now is it?

sadly, no surprise at all really.....

The stones are engraved in West Sussex no less and it looks like the replicas are made around about Birmingham !
I wonder if they'll have 'Made in England' stamped on the back

    Rab

PS. I'm not knocking the fund raising idea - that's good, but they could very easily have supported the local economy.

Well I wonder why on earth they need a $USD3.6m visitors centre.
I thought the one I saw a year ago was quite adequate.
Don't get me wrong, I like the idea of the stones, but a fancier visitors' centre does nothing to enhance the experience of being at Culloden for me.
