Great job, Keith! You should wear this and a Sabres jersey to the kilt night in January. I'll wear a Pens jersey and a black kilt!

It also looks as if you wear it a bit higher, like a tank, or is that just the angle of the photo?
    gilmore,
I do wear it higher like a tank, mainly because this kilt was practice for the wool one I am going to make next.

The apron is wider than an x-Kilt apron, I measured my USA Kilt apron and it was 19.5" at the top and 21.5 inches at the bottom so that is what I made this one. My waist is 37.5 my hips are 44. The kilt is almost done now, I have the velcro on, and started to sew one of the first stripes on the front. So hopefully tonight after the sabres game, it will be done.

Looks good, I cant wait to see the finished product. Your hockey kilt has inspired some ideas to me. When I get home from my deployment I plan on making a couple X-Kilts and one mor trad. type.

Thank you NavyGuy, and welcome to the boards. Also thank you for all you do for this country. The X-Kilt was a great starting project to get my off the ground with kilt making.

I am really pleased with how this one came out, there are things I would have done differently, but I will post them when I finish the kilt tonight.

I think it looks good also! Good job!

I do have a very minor comment . . . to me, the yellow belt loop in the center of the back seems out of place, and the color contrast with the blue draws the eye to that spot, detracting from the rest of the pattern.

I have actually stopped putting belt loops on in yellow for that reason. I will probably make some blue ones.

Today I got the patch I ordered from e-bay and put that on, and have one of the two front stripes on. I should be done with it tonight, then some pictutres (without belt loops). Then to the washing machine to see if it falls apart in the washer. There is a lot of hand sewing on this kilt (believe it or not) and I am fearful that it will just fall apart.

Thank you for your input it is nice to have someone confirm what I thought originally.

This is my second attempt at a kilt and my first at a knife pleat kilt, so I welcome any and all criticism and comments.
