Dave King's vocals are what hooked me. "Tomorrow Comes a Day Too Soon" is my favorite... though there are many MANY other tracks that brilliant in their own... "What's Left of the Flag" I could go on and on.
Yes, The Real McKenzies are great. I actually was headed to Itunes to annie up the cash for a full album. I've been listening to Loch Lomond that I got for free from their Myspace page. Dropkick Murphy's are outstanding as well, but I just have never listened enough to them. Perhaps it's time...

The wife and I are planning on going to the March 7 Dropkick Murphys show up here at the Fillmore. Their version of "Rocky Road to Dublin" is one of the best ever, second only to Liam Clancy's version on "Irish Troubadour"

I just got two tickets to the St Patrick's Day show in Mesa. I've got an old friend from Phoenix who will go w/ if he doesn't get deployed before then. Might even get him kilted for the concert. Might also be a good event to combine w/ a kilt night for the Phoenix rabble. O'Neille

In the last two years Flogging Molly has become one of my favorite bands. I would have to say that Drunken Lullabies is their best album. I recently bought "Whiskey On A Sunday". It has a documentary DVD with it. Very insightful look into the lyrics and the music. The part about Dave King not being able to visit his mother for seven or eight years was a real tear jerker.
I have recently started buying CDs by the Dropkick Murphys. Another great band. Favorite album so far is "The Warriors Code".
I missed Gaelic Storm here in Toledo a few months ago. They were playing at Mickey Finns. I found out they were in Toledo about half an hour after the show started.
I would love to see any one of the three bands. Miight try to get Rygar to go with me.

St. Patrick's day concert in Mesa is sold out. They just added another show on the 18th. Who else is going on the 17th? O'Neille

I just read the other day that the accordian player Matt Hensley decided to leave the band. He wanted to spend more time with his young son. I hate to see him go, but that is a good reason.
Matt's career line has been unique to say the least. He was a pro skateboarder before learning the accordian and playing for Flogging Molly.
