Looking at the photo above I think you'd look even smarter if you tightened the kilt down (a lot) and raised it to touch (as it should) your ribcage. The pattern is intended to be worn very high up and fit very snugly (why some even feel that they are too loose unless they are "regimental"). Pull the kilt up to your rib-cage, suck in your stomach and hold your breath while you tighten down the inner (left) belt (really tight). Now close the right belts. You should not be able to move or shift the kilt unless you suck in your gut, hold your breath and tug! Try it and then look in the mirror and see the difference.
