You know not to do up the hip strap as tight as possible, right? I had always heard that the hip strap only gets done up a wee bit and not all the way. Would that help?

Yeah I've tried it on various settings. Truthfully I kind of wish it wasn't there. I can see Matt's point about it causing more problems than it's worth.

I probably would take a trade .. we'll see how it goes.

So remove the lower strap. I have done that on all my kilts that come with 3 straps. I really like them better that way. Takes about 3 minutes with a seam ripper. I have done all 3 of my SWK's and an eBay purchase that came with 3. The buckle is easy. The strap, just get the strap in the V of the seam ripper (or use a pair of scissors) and as close to the edge of the apron as you can. Since the strap has a small portion that is sewn into the edge, you can't take it all out, but if you get right next to the seam, you will never notice it.

I hadn't been able to get back to post anything but I DID manage to get out and pick up my kilt thursday morning.

It is absolutely stunning. The tartan is gorgeous, the construction is incredible, and the fit is perfect. I love the heavy feel of it, and the way it hangs. Needless to say it will be very difficult to let it hang in the closet for 2.5 months before wearing it.

All that remains is the sporran .. for which I am still looking.

    Merry christmas all!
