    Kid's kilt

As children do, my son finally outgrew his first kilt. So a few months ago I ordered up a new one for him. He wanted to have one of the tartans I had, we picked MacKenzie as it is a family name and his middle name. I wanted PV as I know what kids are like. After talking to a few people, I decided to go with MacHummell at Canadian Casual kilts.

The kilt showed up a couple of weeks ago and I wanted to publicly give kudos to Pete. This is a great looking wee kilt. The pleating is perfect. Pete added a really long velcro clure and hem, so that the kilt can be adjusted as my son grows. This fine kilt should carry him for the next couple of years at least. It hasn't been worn yet, but I will get a few pics of him in the kilt very soon.

Pete, thanks again for such a great job.

That does look like great work, I hope your son enjoys it very much. I might just have to talk to MacHummell about a grown up kilt.

The pictures don't do the pleating the real justice it deserves, nor the accolades that Pete deserves for this one.

Very nice looking kilt Colin. I'm sure your son will be proud to wear it with you.

It appears that the pleats do not have any stitching down the length of the pleat. Is that the case? Without the stitching I'm very interested to know how the pleats hold their shape after wash and wear.

I don't think that any of the PV kilts I have (at least the 2 four yard ones as they were before Bear sewed down the pleats like on the 8) ever had stitching all the way down, and they held their shape well. I ironed them every 4-5 washes anyway, but they were always good. Of course I always hung them dry not the dryer.

Thank you all for the compliments.
Colin I can't wait to see your son in his kilt, my wife has started on a childrens line of kilt wear including tartan bibs, hooded towels, and arran style sweaters these will soon be posted on the CCK site. If any interest PM me.
Once again thank you for the compliments Colin, big thanks to you.
    MacHummel
