I have a wonderful new kilt. It is an 8yd, Strome weight, Modern MacCallum pleated to the stipe, crafted by the ever-so-talented Barb. It's been sitting at my parents house since 28 Dec while I visited with the in-laws. I must say it is a thing of beauty and a joy to behold. Before anyone starts clamoring for pictures, they'll have to wait till I get my laptop back from the shop as it has my camera program.
I ordered one of SWK weathered Lamont heavyweights just before we left Germany and picked it up at my parents house on 15 Dec. I've worn it around Nashville and over into NW TN and the bootheel of MO. It drew quite a few looks and some positive comments and questions.
We gave our son a new UK olive original for Christmas. So now he has two kilts wear at college.
There is no comparison between the two but both will see plenty of use. I've been on leave since 15 Dec and will start back to work 22 Jan and have been kilted the whole time. It's gonna be tough going back to ACUs and boots. As I've said, pics will be posted as soon as possible.
YMOS,
Tony
