Enjoying a Black and Tan

Rob Roy sporran, that is. My second of this style. Here are some pix of the finished item

This shot shows the lining made of deer-tanned kidskin

Here are the main parts prior to assembly and after dyeing, along with some of the tools and supplies. Notice the lining glued to the interior. I may do this differently on the next one to avoid showing the seams on the inside.

The result is a soft, but somewhat stiffer sporran than my last one. I only finished it yesterday, however, and it's already working in. Next I'll do a one-color version.

Turpin, that is really nice work! Each one gets better.

I've chosen to go a different direction because I like the leather carving, but some day maybe we could work a trade if you would be interested?
