I think the colours of the Isle of Skye allow quite some latitude with colour co-ordination which could help explain its popularity!

I went shopping in Sainsburys in Cwmbran wearing it yesterday and an older couple behind me in the checkout queue were very complimentary about it!

I gave up on the choice of kilt hose and she's sending a color she thinks works...but I gotta wait until it all arrives to see it. No doubt will be fine.

Should have it in time for a weekend at the Grand Canyon in a few days...will get some pics.

I am sure it will be in your eager hands very soon Riverkilt!

I was drooling when I saw the pics of the one Barb made!

And with the proposed background, will look much more exotic than my living room!

WOW! I can not wait for my box pleat in the Isle of Skye to arrive. That is a nice tartan and you certainly wear it well.

    Thanks Splash!

The Isle of Skye seems to be winning the XMarks popularity contest at the moment given how it has been on so many threads!

Well I did have a couple more taken, they were for a friend in the Sporran Clan to help make up his mind if he wanted one and guess what he did!

    So here they are!

As you can see the rear is knife-pleated but I'm sure the box pleat will look good too!

I, too, am an Isle of Syke fan. It's on my highly desired list of kilts. It's a lovely kilt and I love the brown leather with it!

    McClef,
    what color are those hose?

At first I thought they were lovell blue (first pic) and now in the last posting (above) they look more blue-grey

    Efer:

The highland clans site (link in an earlier post) calls them "ancient blue."

Not possible in this case as the hose reaches to the calf, not the trunk
