Yes, Beowulf, it happens in time - before I joined xmarks three kilts were sufficient for my needs, now I'm awaiting my twelfth.

Beowolf, dont worry about it its not a race, there are no winners, anyway I think we would all be hard pressed to compete with Hamish, I have had one kilt for a few years now, for the longest time it was enough for me now I want more, but I will always treasure my first kilt.
Oh and Ron, great post, I needed the laugh.

I have a draw full of flashes and only two of my kilts so far don't have flashes to match!

Ron,
Just because you have more kilts and accessories than most of us have of ALL types of clothing does not mean you're addicted- it just means that Hamish is going to have to share the title of "Kollector"!

I guess it is left to me to say this; Ron, not only are you an addict but you are also a pusher! You have more kilts than I have trousers, six times more in fact. I have one kilt Ron, one kilt! That's all a person needs. OK I've ordered a second kilt as I have a recurring nightmare of a black shadow sheep demanding it's wool back and I don't wish to be left standing there with just a sporran to hide my short comings. Fifty kilts in eighteen months is like two new kilts every three weeks, you have to slow down Ron. First cut it back to two new kilts a month and then perhaps one a month. And for Heaven's sake do not, under any circumstances, order a cilt you do not want start a new addiction!

Ron, I'm thinking about the amount of closet space this must all require. My modest collection takes up HALF of my normal sized guestroom closet. Did you have to add a wing to your house?
Keep up the good work of inspiring us to spend our children's inheritance. No one ever said it was a requirement to leave them all our money but perhaps a very fine kilt collection is a nice gift, in the end.

Hey ScottNH,
I live in a "bachelor cave" apartment, so little closet space. Got one of those free standing closet deals for my wool kilts. Keep them in moth proof garment bags. The non wool kilts are on THREE of those clothing rack stands you get at WalMart to hang stuff on when you're doing laundry or ironing...they're in the kitchen area of my apartment. Weird, but who cares and it makes choosing the kilt for the day easier.
Kilt logistics....can be baffling sometimes.

"I'll have a kilt please, a nice hand sewn tartan, 16 ounce Strome. Oh, and a sporran on the side, with a strap please."

Too right, Ron. Kilt logistics are baffling.

Well, its been about 20 months and up to 9 UKs now, didn't seem to try to hard. Not sure if the next kilt will be from Stillwater or my sewing machine. I like my selection of UKs, but its time for a tartan.

Hmmm,
Les'see, 3 UKs in 5 months, and my wife suggested I start saving for a leather one; I want to start getting some (PV) tartans - Farquharson, Irish National... I need a sporran or two, a jacket, (nonwool) kilt hose/rugby socks, perhaps flashes for the tartans on the wish list, a sgian brew (and a sgian dubh); I'd like to learn the pipes (after I get around to learning the flute)... what's missing? Oh, yeah - the second (well, third, now) job to support the habit. And then there are my other vices: wanting to homebrew, tattoos, herps and fish, a BIG dog (we only have four - two medium -55#- and two large -100#). "Sigh"
