The brown leather and brass softens the look.... The top stitching also creates a subtle feel in the look of the leather. the brown top stitch on the leather is warm and if I do Black top stitching on the brown it gives it a pronounced rugged feel.
It's a personal taste issue what ever works is just dandy.

Thanks... the youngest pup, Izzy, has been up in the studio a few times today demanding an audience.....
So it's time to put on the fire and get the feet up....

Great looking kilt!
And thank you for the belt pic. I've been wondering for a long time how a "western" style belt would look on a kilt, the advantage being that you can produce a wide belt without an oversized belt buckle. I like it!

I never thought I'd want a leather kilt but this one (and all the goodies that can be purchased with it) has changed my mind COMPLETELY!! I've bookmarked the page.
Beautiful work, Robert.

This kilt is cotton twill, not leather.

Thank you. I believe you are refering to the one on the home page of R Kilts. I have had a good response with that particular kilt combination.
I pretty much live in the leather kilts, easy to care for.

On Robert's site is a dark chocolatey brown RKilt picture.
I covet. Almost in an unhealthy painful sort of way.
