Here is a link to actual fabric scans from House of Edgar's Old & Rare line:
    http://www.tartanweb.org/range/house...old__rare.html

However, oddly enough, MacMillan Dress muted does not appear on that listing. But it is in their Old & Rare line, according to their own material. That means it should be in my swatch book at the museum, so I can double check when I get in this morning.

I, personally, would think the Erskine tartan might be a better choice to represent the school, given it's name, than just another tartan that happened to be close to the school colors.

Of course if you wanted to design a tartan for the school, the Erskine tartan woven in yellow and garnet would be an obvious choice.

(BTW, MacWage, I have a MacMillan dress neck tie hanging on the rack for sale in the museum gift shop that needs to get sold.....)

    Erskine...

I have to second Matt's suggestion of the (dress) Erskine tartan, which was also worn by the pipes & drums of the Royal Scots Fusiliers:

Just FYI, I am able to confirm that Dress MacMillan muted is in House of Edgar's Old & Rare line of 13 oz cloth, and I do have a swatch here at the museum. Very nice shades, and the yellow is more of a mustardy-gold.

Now THAT is not a bad idea. I'll contact the school tomorrow!
