Hello from Alberta
Hello all.
I've just bought my first kilt and I'm waiting for some alterations to be finished. It's in the MacLeod (of Harris, or of MacLeod if you prefer) tartan, though the MacLeods only make up a small portion of my heritage. The largest river in this region is called the MacLeod though, and the region itself is often called 'The MacLeod River Valley', so I figure I can get away with it.
I have my own sgian dubh and sporran so I'm pretty excited to wear the Kilt when it's done. I don't have a belt, so I suppose a normal one will have to sub until I get get a proper one, and I only have one pair of hose (from when I wore the kilt at my brothers wedding 2 years ago) but I still can't wait. I'm also learning a bit of Scots Gaelic in preperation for Tartan Day.
Anyhow, I suppose if there's anything else worth saying, it'll come out later. See you all around... or... Mar sin leibh, an-drasta.

Welcome from another Southern Ontario Kiltie. I myself just switched over to a regular belt from a kilt belt, I find it a little more subtle.

Welcome from Snellville Georgia, "where everybody's somebody"
"A veteran, whether active duty, retired, national guard or reserve, is someone who, at one point in his life, wrote a blank check made payable to "The United States of America", for an amount of "up to and including my life." That is honor, and there are way too many people in this country who no longer understand it." anon
