			My new Dubh

Don't know if this should go in the DIY section or here. So, here it is...
A couple of months ago I was talking to my father about the fact that I had started wearing the kilt. My father, who is a master woodworker, was approached about making a sgian dubh for me. After much discussion, he took on the task. Now understand, that he is not an expert on Scottish dress, he simply took a look at what was available and rolled his own...

So, I proudly unveil..... The GLM Sgian Dubh

The material used was purple heart wood, maple, ash, tiger wood, and brass insets...

I rather like it! What do the rest of you think?

Guys, to share a little more of the types of things that my father turns out, I present his carosel horse project from the last three months. Mind you, there is no paint in this at all. This is simply various color woods. (Oh, and the pole is brass. the blue at the bottom is painters tape, he was spraying a clear coat laquer on it at the time.. It is normally a mirror.)

As you might tell, I am awfully proud of his work!
