Wolfe Tones, Chieftains, and St. Patrick's Day

Ok, all you Milwaukee/Chicagoland Kilties, here's my schedule:

Friday, February 23rd: The Wolfe Tones are performing at Gaelic Park in South Chiago. I'm gonna be wearing my Irish saffron kilt.

Thursday, March 8th: The Chieftains are performing at the Riverside Theater in Milwaukee. I bought my tickets already, why haven't you?!?

Saturday, March 10th: Milwaukee St. Patrick's Parade. I will be marching with my old pipe band, the Shamrock Club Color Guard Pipe and Drum Band. Come and watch the parade, I'll be piping and wearing a Kelly Green kilt.

Sunday, March 11th: South Chicago St. Patrick's Day Parade. Again, I will be piping with the Shamrock Club in a green kilt. In my own opinion, the South Chicago celebration is better than the "Official" Chicago parade.

Saturday, March 17th: Chicago St. Patrick's Day Parade. I will not be marching, but I'm considering bring my pipes and busking on the streets/any pub that will have me.

If you'll be at any of these events, let me know!

    Greg,

Lynn and I will be there also. Taking the train from the middle of Michigan and will be in town Friday to Monday. Perhaps we can meet someplace. We'd love to hear you play.

Now if you're going to be at the South Side St. Patrick's Day Parade...which is in my own neighborhood...you have to decide which side of Western Avenue you want to be on. If you're on the West side of the street that's where all the bars are and drinking is legally allowed. The East side of the street is supposedly "dry" and is considered the "family friendly" side of the street...in other words, they have to bring their own beer because they can't buy it in one of the taverns. Interesting zoning ordinances, n'est ce pas?

Wow, thanks for the advice Argonian! And Rex, I would love to meet up with you somewhere. I'll PM you both when it gets closer to the event.
