I have an AK and I'm bigger than you! I ordered a size 50 and it fits great. Lots of room in the hips and just right for summer wearing.

You should get a commission as you just sold me on the kilt.

Glad to be of service. Do follow the instructions on measuring before you order. My kilt could have been just a bit bigger to wear higher but on the hips it's good. Also it washes great, out of the dryer and hang over night and in the morning you're good to go. The little sporran they include is really quite handy as well.

You know, I don't recall a single bad thing ever being said about Amerikilt here on XMarks.
I've heard people say that they didn't like them for whatever reason, but that was more of a personal opinion... For quality, everybody seems to say that AK is a perfectly serviceable kilt for casual wear.

What Dread said.
My AK is very comfortable. I don't wear it as much as the tartans but you can't beat it on a hot summer day.

I'll give an even MORE obvious answer than Canawler...
Email Mike Butler (sales@amerikilt.com ... he doesn't bite) and give him all of your measurements (waist, hip, length and height). Tell him your concerns and ask him to send you a kilt that would fit a man of your build.
If you're STILL concerned, you may want to ask about his return policy in case it doesn't fit.
