Looking good, Moosedog - now that I'm a "grown-up", the nice thing about dressing myself is, I DON'T have to explain myself to anyone -except my wife, 'cuz I want HER approval, and who's bought all three of the kilts I have so far - so wear what you like and give the naysayers the attention they deserve - ignore the buggers!

Thanks for all your kind words and encouragement. I love wearing kilts and I guess it shows! Went to the liquor store today wearing my Irish national and found myself surrounded by a bevvy of folk who were interested.
Yes, Hamish, the oatmeal/brown combo really does work well with almost everything (except Robertson red.) I just add a little "flash" of color for balance. Sometimes the oddest combination works. I recently bought a shirt on the clearance rack that was, ahem, yellow. Kind of a chamois but still...yellow. And you know it matches up with the yellow line in almost everything? I have to avoid wearing it with the irish national, though, or it looks as though I have just come from a Duck game.
Thanks, and keep on kiltin'
