    Talking Dreadbelly Bonnet

Well I'm not great at writing reports on the quality of products that I purchase, but I give it a go. I ordered my first (but not my last) bonnet from Dreadbelly about two weeks ago. He had to order the yarn but even with that he had it done lickity split. The quality of this hand made Tam is some of the best work that I've seen and I would suggest one of these for all Xmarkers to match any and all their kilts. I had this one made to match my Douglas Mod USAK casual kilt that Igot from Rockey and Kelly about 3 months ago which I'll post something about ASAP. But back to the tam. As you look into the top you see what looks like a circulal sort of pattern which I was told help with fit and heat retention along with breathing. I also do Civil War Reenacting as a hobbie and I wore this tam to my last reenactment and it kept my head toasty warm without making me sweat. Guys I would suggest for you to buy 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, or more. I will be purchasing more in the first of march.

    Thank you, thank you.

You know what is really unfair? The hat actually makes him look taller.

I heartily concure with the review. My DreadBelly Isle of Skye tam arrived yesterday. Headed out to take pics today and will post soon.

I send Dread local dyed Navajo made yarn for my tam. The local dyes matched the soft Isle of Skye colors. We both learned the hard way that the yarn was made for rug weaving and wasn't all in one piece and seemed to include a few pounds of the local sand.

Dread and his wife managed to make it workable and craft a most lovely tam for me.

Folks, this is a GREAT deal. Ya gotta try it before the muscles in Dread's fingers lock up permanently.

Looks great! I need one of those at some point. I just really don't know where I would wear it. I myself wouldn't mind wearing it about town, running errands, you know the day-to-day life. But, I think Nikki would kick me in the torries if I did that. :buttkick:

Ah, who am I kidding? I wear a flippin' kilt as casual wear!

I agree everyone needs at least 5 - 10 of these bonnets. I really like mine and wear it when ever I wear my kilt. It can be formal or casual. It really is the nicest that I have ever seen. If I can get out of my financial bind I will definately order another. My birthday is April 7th, if anyone wants to get me one as a b'day gift. {nudge, nudge}.
