Prince Charles must have been in residence at that time, or was it Camilla?

This is actually quite common in the British Army; unlike the Prussians, who are famous for their military marches, the British have always adopted "popular" songs, a la the music hall, folk songs, etc. as military marches -- and that tradition has continued to this today. It is not uncommon to hear music from popular movies, like Star Wars, Raiders of the Lost Ark and the Magnificent Seven played by British Army bands. In fact, on a number of my recordings, I have military bands playing some unexpected tunes, like the theme from the Magnificent Seven played on the pipes!

Of course, few Americans realize that the tune of our national anthem is actually a British drinking song from the late 1700's!

So, silly jokes about the Royal Family aside, this really is nothing special.

I really do like the variety of music that bands can play.

A local Irish pipe band plays Scotland the Brave on Kazoo's

That is not a piece of music that one would normally associate with a military band.... But, then again, after this years Tattoo, I'm not sure I can say that anymore...
"A veteran, whether active duty, retired, national guard or reserve, is someone who, at one point in his life, wrote a blank check made payable to "The United States of America", for an amount of "up to and including my life." That is honor, and there are way too many people in this country who no longer understand it." anon
