    A suggestion that helped me when I was trying to find out if some pv I picked up was a registered tartan or not is to place the material on a scanner. It picks up the colors better than photography and depending on the resolution of your scanner could actually yield a thread count as well.

    name that tartan

    I was looking at this tartan, and it is very close in terms of the MacBeth Modern tartan from Lochcarron or Strathmore. Not sure if I am correct, but it is the closest match I have found while looking at the tartans.

    I agree with Mat... It's MacBeth... it's a little lighter than our version in PV (I'd call it "Ancient" compared to Modern).
