Now I know where I'm going to get my next kilt made!

I have almost finished!!!
Basically I'm just waiting for the boy to come home from school, so I can be sure of the velcro placement on the waist band.
Today, I pressed the waistband
Here, I am making sure that the waistband lines up with the sett on the front apron
As you can see, it does not line up on the rest of the kilt-someday, I will do a kilt pleated to sett, and then it will
Pinning the waistband (the inside)
More to come...

More pics
I've machine sewn the inner side of the waistband
Here's the velcro on the inner aspect of the front apron (use the soft stuff on this part, the rougher stuff will go on the outer aspect of the under apron)
Now, for the hand sewing, so that the waistband looks perfect from the outside
Lining up well on the front apron
Looks like the boy is home from school-now we'll have a bit of a fitting and I will finish the velcro. The final step will be lining the kilt-I could do without this step, except Sinbad has unfortunately inherited my sensitivity to wool.
Be well,

We had a fitting, and I had to hand sew the velcro on the under apron-for some reason my sewing machine cannot handle the hook side of the velcro-there was much swearing!
Here it is-nearly finished
The pleats
I say nearly finished, because now I need to line it, add belt loops and make flashes, but I'm pretty sure we will be showing it off at the next Belmont kilt/beer night. It's a little long, but I figure, at the rate he's growing, it will fit perfectly by next week
Be well,

GOod job Maam! Sinbad looks great in it!
"A veteran, whether active duty, retired, national guard or reserve, is someone who, at one point in his life, wrote a blank check made payable to "The United States of America", for an amount of "up to and including my life." That is honor, and there are way too many people in this country who no longer understand it." anon

It's great to be married to a Flame-Haired Celtic Amazon Goddess...
I would again like to thank our own Robin for the gift of this material and Sinbad's kilt pin.
Cheers

He looks very happy in his new kilt, I am sure he will treasure it as it was made by his mom. What a wonderful gift.
