I figured I should inform you guys of what ended up happening. My now ex-girlfriend's aunt ended up coming down from Minnesota. She has a habit of saying things that aren't very nice to people who seem 'different'. To avoid any confrontations, I was told to wear pants, or not come at all. So I just went with the pants.

Thanks for the update. I suppose now that she is your ex-girlfriend, her aunt's point of view no longer holds any importance, so at least you are free to go kilted when it suits you.

Thanks for the update. A wise move to make her an ex-girlfriend. You really don't want to be tied to some control freak family who tell you what to wear.

As above. You're a better man than I am. I would have sent the woman on her own and stayed home.

Heh. Actually she dumped me. I wasn't too mad about not being able to wear the kilt. It wasn't a huge deal to me.

That woulda been a biggie for me... Fortunately my wife (She Who Has Bought My Kilts) likes 'em, and all the rest of my family and friends vote affirmative or know me well enough to know their votes don't count. I have a float trip I go on every summer, sometimes twice a summer, depending on water levels; we've a couple of floaters that make that trip that are concerned enough about their masculinity that being kilted is gonna be really hard on 'em - I'm lookin' forward to it!
