I've responded to Dirka without so much as a thought of it.

I think that the late Dale Evans, the wife of the late Roy Rogers would have given you an arguement about "Dale" being a mans name.

A valid point (even if it was a bit smarmy ). I guess the only people I've ever met named Dale have been men. My aunt and my sister were named after a man, but that doesn't mean only men are named Dale.

Maybe I should have been more open minded, after all... I have an aunt and an uncle named Beverly!!!

    My name?

Well, let's see... Robert (Oh man! What did I do now? - often miss this one when someone says it) Bob (answer to it almost all of the time, and it's one of the names Shy Dog Mousekiller is learning to alert me to), Flower (old nickname, most who used to use it are dead), Murf (short-lived and unliked by me), Weebles (...wobble but we don't fall down! - from high school), Mouse (from my rougher days, biker slang as in "house mouse" - guy who gave it to me still talks funny), Bobby/Li'l Bob (family name, I'm named after my dad - not used much as I'm bigger than he and he has been ostracized for boorish behavior, which is hard to achieve in my family), and Frog (preferred, if I hear it I'll answer, and I want Shy Dog to learn it). My favorite, given to me by my wife, is Him; she's the only one to use it, to my way of thinking it is for her use only. She uses it when writing - cards, letters, that sort of thing.

I don't care what you call me, though don't call me late for dinner.

In high school, I was known by two names mostly. The Ogre, for obvious reasons, and Orange Crunch. I drank a lot of Orange Crush... I don't know how it turned in to Orange Crunch. Orange Crunch evolved into Agent Orange Crunch. For a time, I was known as Knuckles, because my knuckles were always busted up, covered in super glue, or in stitches. Mike, Michael, Mikey, or Mad Midget Mikey. (My middle name) Lumpskull, a personal favourite, because of my hard head.
