    I saw it on a transcontinental flight (so not the best quality picture or sound), but was still hugely impressed!

    Looking forward to the DVD's release...

    Well its only a small 48 seat cinema which gets one film per week; the big city cinemas have multi screens where they can show anything up to a dozen different films in the one day and they always get the new films long before we get to see them out here in the more rural areas. Not wishing to stray the thread off topic again but I believe strongly that in this age of equal rights and social inclusion film companies should be compelled to release films on DVD on the same day they are first released to cinemas.

    Well at the time of her execution she had aged considerably and her real hair had turned grey but maybe the younger Mary could be a problem for her.

    I'm sorry I'm late getting to this thread - I hoped The Queen would be good but I was thrilled at just how good the movie turned out to be. Its a very powerful and moving portrait - Helen Mirren's performance is top notch. The flash of kilts and beauty of the area near Balmoral and a proud "Monarch of the Glen" really are the icing on a very tasty cake!
