While I applaud your efforts and hope that he might actually show up and learn something about the garment, I don't think it'll happen.
It's been my experience that "reporters" generally don't. They're in for the muckraking and rabble-rousing, and would prefer to not actually know anything about the topics on which they choose to speak.

Oh aye! The mistakes I can catch in fields where I know something about the subject reported on are amazing. They tend to lead me to distrust much of what I see confidently reported about fields, of which I know nothing.
