Greetings from Houston!
Greetings all!
Brand new member from Houston, Texas.
I have wanted a kilt for quite some time but was unable to muster the will and/or financial resources to take the plunge until this past year. I was planning to spend New Years with a friend and his family in Comrie, a small town in Perthshire, and I was informed that dinner on New Years Day is a black tie event. This gave me the push I needed and I ordered my kilt from Roger Nichols Kiltmakers in Perth. To make an already too long story short, or rather not quite as long, I am now the proud owner of an 8-yard knife-pleated kilt in the Anderson tartan (my grandmother's family).
I am looking forward to adding a couple of more casual, and less expensive, kilts to the wardrobe as well as chances to wear them!

And the kiltmaker was Robert Nichol of Perth & Dumferline, not Roger Nichols. I do not know why I can't remember thier name. They were most helpful, particularly with getting the measurements correct and then making a couple fo adjustments in record time once I was over there.
