Hamish, have you not tried to see if Mat can ship the hose from the supplier to you? I used to have a paintball marker that was UK made with some US parts and they would do that for me. Saved alot in shipping times and charges.

I believe Rocky was asked this in regards to his new Jacket and tweed line. He responded that he wanted to verify the quality before passing it along to his customer*. USAKilts exudes quality, we can not fault Rocky for ensuring the best for his customers, it is afterall his reputation and name he is selling under.
*Not verbatim, just my grasp of his response.

You are very welcome Hamish.
I have found these five, (I have a pair of each) go well with my current kollection but always happy to see more colours too so let me know if a call to them yields results.

Hamish,
If it would help I would be glad to get the ones you want and ship then home to you if you can't get them otherwise. You could pay me via PayPal. I do it regularly with friends in the UK for car and bicycle parts that I can't get here or they can't get there.

Hamish,
Those look like the same hose complete to the label, maybe they can special order the colors they don't carry in stock for you. It's worth asking the question.

Hose!
This means my order for more socks and garters should be on its way soon
I've had a gray pair of these socks for a couple months now and really like them. They are comfortable indoors here, as well as outdoors in the winter. I like the fact that they have just a little elastic where the cuff turns down. They'll stay up just fine if you don't want to wear some type of garter.
I also have worn a pair of the garters a few times (I'll wear them all the time when my color-coordinated socks arrive). They go on easy, although it took me a couple tries to get the tail length right - kind of like tying a tie and getting the two ends the right length. Once they were on, I could barely tell they were there, even though they were more than tight enough to keep the hose from slipping. I think their knit-tube construction makes them feel very soft, especially compared to the hard elastic of my other flashes.
I wash these socks by hand using the same soap I use for my wool sweaters - Eucalan - a soap that contains eucalyptus oil and lanolin and doesn't require any rinsing. I do this mainly because I don't want to mix the hose in with my other wash and accidentally get them in the dryer. They smell good afterwards too.

Hamish,
I can verify from the pictures on the Highland Clans site that these are the same hose made by the same company. I have no idea why they would choose to carry only five standard colors. (Well, I can guess it would just be for economy -- it is less expensive to stock only the common colors -- but to be honest, part of the reason I got really excited about this line was the wide color variety, so it seems to me to defeat the purpose to only offer five standard colors that you can get in any kilt hose).
Also, they offer the same traditional garter ties. Like the hose, they don't offer the full range of colors. However, oddly enough, one of the colors they do offer is "lemon" which is strange because I have never seen any shade of yellow appear on their availability list! I would have stocked it if I knew about it! I'll have to ask about this color.
About shipping to the UK, believe it or not we frequently get customer orders coming through from the UK, for UK-made products. I scratch my head about it, and then process the order in good cheer! For companies that we deal direct with, I will usually just have them ship straight to the customer. Like you said, it just doesn't make sense to ship the good from the UK, to USA, then back to UK.
However, this sock company has a US distributor that handles orders for their US based retailers, so I don't actually deal with their UK office. That being said, I'm sure I could arrange for them to ship direct to you if you cannot find another UK based retailer.
Aye,
Matt

Matt, If I recall correctly, did you not post a web address for the company on your blog? (One quick web search later...) http://www.houseofcheviot.com/index.html.
The site lists their contact address as:
The House of Cheviot Ltd
Block 4, Units 6-8 Galalaw Business Park
Hawick
Scottish Borders,
TD9 8PZ
Phone +44 (0)1450 378 670
Fax +44 (0)1450 377 637
Email: sales@HouseOfCheviot.com
It might be worth making a quick call to see if they will sell direct, or can list some UK retailers who do the full colour range.
Best regards

I just got off the phone with Ronan at the Museum gift shop. In addition to causing a sudden loss of turgor pressure in my already emaciated checking account, I had a nice chat and found out that the hose and garters should be here any day now...I can barely stand the wait, and I've only had the order in for 5 minutes!
Bryan...gonna play with my kettlebell tonight, and see if being tired makes me forget...
