how do you feel about a kilt being worn as a fashion statement?

Chose option 4. I don't believe I wear a kilt to be fashionable, although I may wear it for rather self-centered reasons. I would be very wary if it was fashionable.

I feel somewhat the same it seems that some wear the kilt for the wrong rasons I on the other hand wear it becasue i enjoy it and it gives me pride in my heritage and ancestry yet I like it because it populairzes the kilt. im a little bit of every option...

I don't care why it is worn, only that it is. The more men in kilts, the more accepted it will be. if your looking for love, looking for attention, looking for a fight, looking to impress a chick...as long as its in a kilt.

i think it's great that more men are wearing Kilts,
at the same time i would hope that they respect what certain
Tartans represent.
for example,
I'm going to be getting a Kilt in the Black Watch Tartan.
my Clan, Shaw, has served from it's beginning.
so to my way of thinking my family has earned it.
many think I'm being silly about it, but still the same i feel this way.
just as one should not wear the Royal Tartan,
i don't feel that someone should wear any Military Units Tartan
that their family has not earned.

To me it depends on what kind of fashion statement they are trying to make.

No offence, but I think an individual can only earns the right to wear something from a military unit through their own service.

I agree. People want to wear kilts for many different reasons, and it's not my place to tell someone he's wearing it for the "wrong" reason. If someone wants to wear a kilt for comfort, or fashion, or rebellion, or tradition, or whatever, that's all fine by me.
