How do you respond?

Q. Are you Scottish, or Irish?
A. No, I'm Swedish, I just like wearing kilts because they are so comfortable

Q. What is the special ocassion....or is that how you always dress?
A. This is how I dress on the weekends because kilts are so comfortable

The most unusual question came from an Asian lady in a grocery store, she wanted to know about my club. When I asked what club she explained I was wearing a square dancing outfit. I told her no, it was a kilt and I just wore them because they were comfortable. She got all flustered and walked away. I saw her later, smiled, and walked toward her and she again got flustered and dashed down the nearest ailse she could find.

At least I'm making an impression....

My favorite reply nowadays is when some guy asks me the question. I answer back with "why are you asking another guy about his underwear ?"
That pretty much shuts 'em up.


CT - girls are a different category depending

I usually get the 'What's under your kilt?'
If it's a girl I ask her to give me her hand and I'll show her, which is a pretty standard answer.
For guys I usually just say 'More than I can easily fit into trousers.'

I have a couple of replies that I offer to the uninformed. To the guys who ask "Whats up with the skirt?" Well if you have to ask apparently you don't have enough testosterone to wear one! Second one My last name is Yoder, a good PennsylvanisDutch name in Lancaster County PA soo when they ask if I am Scottish or Irish I say "NO I'M AMISH!" The double takes are priceless! Happy Kilting
