Storing kilts

Hi Patrick,

I have found that what you do is fine for short-term storage but, if left for weeks, months or even years hanging from those 'ribbon' loops, with the waistband sagging, your kilt's pleats will twist and become seriously mishapen! As I understand it, those loops were originally supplied to military kilts so that, when it was folded in a certain way, the loops came together and the kilt could be hung by them from a single wall-hook. Again this is probably alright if the kilt is hanging like that just overnight, and is taken down to be worn each day! I would not subject my kilts to that 'torture' however!

I will not dispute the above, but with only two kilts, there is not much chance of long time storage

Yes, when hanging from one hook, the kilt is folded twice
