    Still Around

Hello Gents! I know I haven't posted for a few days, and I just figured I'd better let you all know I'm still here, I've just been busy. My Brother and his family are town in this week for my mom's birthday celebration, so I've been spending as much time with them as possible. At the same time I'm trying to sort out the whole college thing (which might not even happen now) as well as going to work. So needless to say I haven't spent much time on the computer. Anyways, I shall return!

Please enjoy the time you are able to spend with your parents.

I lost my mother two years ago and I do miss her.

Well I'm still here, as you may have noticed, so I figured I'd better give you all an update.

I'm not going to college anymore. Before you all get fatherly on me () let me explain. I was originally going to college to learn how to be a Funeral Director/Embalmer, but there were some requirements I had to meet before I could apply. I finally had everything I (thought I) needed, but while I was trying to get it done they went and changed the requirements! Now I would need 14-20 hours experience in a funeral home, and the deadline for application was changed from May 31st to March 31st (yes, the end of this month!) Needless to say I was panicking. So I rushed down to the local funeral home and practically BEGGED the director to give me the 14-20 hours. He basically said 'no'. Before I even had a chance to be upset, he said 'Why don't you come work for me instead? I need an apprentice.' (<--- Seriously what I looked like at the time).

So now instead of moving 5 hours away to Calgary, trying to work through college, never seeing my family, and not getting any real hands-on experience in the funeral biz... I get to stay in my hometown, get paid to learn, and be apprenticed to one of the best embalmers in the province. For now I'm just working part time at the funeral home (as well as my other job), but in September I become a full fledged apprentice.

I'm seriously flying right now, I haven't been this happy in ages. But that's what's been up with me, and that's why I haven't been posting much lately. But I will check in every so often, just so y'all know I'm alive.

P.S. Still no kilt!!! The Jones! The Joooooones!!!

Wow, serious case of "right place at the right time" going on there, and even though you won't be getting a degree/certification in the field, an apprenticeship to one of the best in the area should be even more respected (imho)

Isn't it cool when things like that work out. It's like hitting the sweet spot on a ball

That is great! I always say, "Things work out as they do for a REASON!"

Now I wonder if anyone is buried in a kilt? The family probably wants the kilt left to someone rather than bury it.

    DALE.

You don't have to be Scottish to be comfortable!
