    Grey Green Teaser

So I went and bought 6m of Frazer and Kirkbright's Grey Green Tartan from their remnant section. At $6CDN/m 59'' wide 11oz 55% polyester 45% wool I felt that this was something to get a little more adventurous with.

Today the two kilts were finished and went to the cleaners for a heavy press to really set the pleats. The first is a knife edge with 27 pleats, pleated to the vertical white strip. The second is a box pleat - 11 x 2 1/2 inch pleats, pleated alternately to the grey and green tartan. Plan to wear one of them tomorrow evening to a St Patricks Day function. Will post more photos at the weekend but here is the teaser. This is the box pleat just after laying out all the pleats.

Very nice work. It will be interesting to see the knife pleat kilt, also.

The sett looks small. Do you remember what it is?

That's a nice looking Tartan. I love sewing in the pleats. I still have a great kilt that i will hand pleat for certain occasions, but it's so much easier. Plus i live out here in Arizona, so the lightweight cheater kilt with the pleats sewn in is much nicer in the heat. Have fun!
