What sort of monster would wear rings that big?

I worked with a guy with fingers that big. When he got married his ring was a record for the jewelry store.

Ok. I'll spill the beans. They are and they do fit my fingers.

I don't know where Beuth found them, but he did. I typically wear anything from a size 11 upwards to a 14 or 15 in my index finger. It is very, very hard to find rings in my size. My fingers aint fat either... The bones are exceptionally thick, just like everywhere else in my body.

I seem to have the same ring size as the Dark Lord Sauron, if you've ever seen The Lord of the Rings and see the Ring of Power after it was removed from his frightful little finger.
