Actually I am replacing a broken spindle. I had to disassymble the door to do it.

The purple coloured dots are what's known as the jewels. Yes they are actuall jewels, hand cut from rubies and hand set into the escapements. these time locks have 21 jewels. Cost of one time lock is around $1000.00, as you can see this one has three clocks.
