    I stole this

I stole this from another forum that has to with pipe smokers & not kilts.

"He was rather preoccupied: like a kilted man who cannot find his ferret."

I did not know that I need a ferret when I wear a Kilt. Am I missing something, or does this mean the animal?

the last thing I need is a ferret running 'round under my kilt! I'd just as soon make a sporran out if it!

The ferret should never be worn under the kilt, nor should it be allowed to roam freely about the wearer's person; instead, it may be affixed to the plaid (if the plaid is being worn) or placed in the sporran. (Its head may be allowed to protrude amusingly from beneath the sporran flap.)

Clan chiefs are permitted to wear two ferrets, or one otter.

Please, people. There are rules for Highland dress. Let's not ruin the appearance of our kilts with disorderly ferrets.

Now WHERE did I put that ferret? I know he's around here somewhere... Not like him to just run off...

Oh yes, well certainly... perhaps in Oklahoma... but here EAST of the Missouri River (where prices are slightly lower), the ferret is more properly worn attached to the ribbons of the balmoral or glengarry! (Or, if he's been naughty, done up in a nice bit of stew.)

Well, if you can ferret out the ferret, guess you'd stay out of trouble?
