There are some absolutly stunning photos on this thread. Some because I hit my head on the desk while laughing so hard.
As a Star Wars fan I wish there was a pic of Darth Vadar kilted with one of those modern black on black tartans to go along with the kilted storm troopers.

Shouldn't someone let Sir Connery know that his association with this event (although for a good cause) makes him look as bad as he did in Zardoz?
here's a link for Zardoz for those who missed this FINE piece of cinematic history: http://imdb.com/title/tt0070948/

He looks a lot better in a kilt than he did in that loincloth.

Hey Now!!
Dressed to the Kilt 2007 may be a joke, (honestly, to my eye it doesn't seem much different from previous years) But y'all leave Zardoz alone! It is by far the best Irish sci-fi movie ever made in 1974  I think I'll go watch my DVD of it now!

LOL Zardoz...I have seen your posts before and I kinda figured you had used that name from the movie. Just because a movie is horrid doesn't mean it's also bad. For example, I own a copy of Killer Klowns From Outer Space....so I too am guilty as charged for owning a very fun bad movie. Still, Sean Connery in tight red hot pants is just not something that should ever have occured on this planet. I am suprised that theme didn't pop up in the dressed to kilt event in honour of Sir Connery :-)

Zardoz
How did I ever miss this one? Let's see, 3 stars on Netflix, 5.5 stars on IMDB and The Plot (love the badmovies.org):
Where can you find Sean Connery running around in a loincloth, worshipping a HUGE FLYING STONE HEAD (hehehehe!), being hounded by naked women, and battling immortals? The seventies baby, the seventies...

I remember renting Zardoz and watching it with the lovely Flame-Haired Celtic Amazon Goddess. At the movie's end I turned to her and my only comment was "People took a lot of drugs in the seventies".

I will also confess to owning Zardoz on DVD
I love the second movement of Beethoven's seventh symphony which is the main musical theme.
