For my casual kilts I've been doing the closures with D-rings which is simple and easy and I can find them.....However for the kilts I'm making for my wedding I want something better. The only problem in the local fabric store (Jo-Ann's) doesn't carry anything better than D-rings. Where to the other DIYers get their buckles? (I hope its an on-line or mail order establishment!) Thanks a bunch Chris
you might want to try ebay.
Try Highland Xpress. This is where most professionals get theirs. Very nice people. Just check to make sure of their hours before trying to call them. http://www.highlandxpress.com/bucklestraps.html

Another option would be Tandy Leather.
Depending on what color strap you want give these a look They are available in 5 standard colors.
Stillwater Kilts sells buckle and strap sets. I've used them for a casual kilt recently. Brian
