Charriots of Fire
Decided to watch this old movie last night. I love the part where Eric Liddel tells his sister "When I run, I feel his pleasure.", as well as the different personalities of all the athletes and their views of each other and the relationships between fellow competitors.
I had forgotten just how many kilts are shown in this movie.
Several shots with military pipers, a few scenes with country folk in kilts at church and at the highland games. I'd have to watch it again to identify tartans but it was filled with kilts during the part that dealt with Liddel's life.
The last scene of kilts was the Pipers at the 1924 Paris games playing the French National Anthem ![Smile](http://www.xmarksthescot.com/forum/images/smilies/icon_smile.gif)
Nice to see this film again (through older eyes )

Only one R in chariots
It's a great film with great music and nostalgic (for me) opening scene with them running along the sands at St Andrews which for some strange reason they decided to pass off as a resort on the South Coast of England!
Tragic to think that Ian Charleson (Liddell) and Brad Davis (Jackson Scholz) are no longer with us

Why not? At our wedding, the piper played the old French-Canadian tune, Vive La Canadienne, in honour of my wife's French Acadien/Cajun heritage -- and I don't think Jolie Blonde, the unofficial Cajun anthem, would go well on the pipes! ![Wink](http://www.xmarksthescot.com/forum/images/smilies/icon_wink.gif)

I love the Acadien French, especially one in particular!
