US Army PV Kilt and... unusual?... sporran

Rocky & Kelly - thanks for a super kilt!
I had one bit of a surprise the first time I wore it, which I'll mention at the end of the post.

The tartan is great - as others have said, darker than expected (but the shad I had hoped for, so absolutely no disappointments there!)

For those who recognize it, yes I "earned" that sporran - it was the first one I was issued way back once upon a time. No, I'm not quite old enough to have carried an M14 (except in Ranger School), but I got issued the M14 ammo pouches to carry my 18 round mags for the M16 (can't put them all in boys, they'll jam - just put the other two in your pocket for later). Hmmm...

 And now for the
moment. There was some dancing tonight, and the fabric has a bit more... action, shall we say?... than I had anticipated. Let's just say a friend of mine let me know there was no reason for anyone to ask me "the question."
All in all? A great kilt - better than I had hoped for! (So very glad I "got in" on the special weaving.) I'll just have to remember to be a little more sedate in my dancing, and to avoid the subway grates when I'm wearing it.

Honestly, it's not a very practical sporran (unless one is only carrying the items for which it was originally designed) and I don't see myself wearing it except when it would have special meaning to myself and others.

I wanted the first pictures to reflect something about why I chose to get this particular tartan. That's why I also chose the shirt I did - again, not much meaning to most, but special to me and to a few other folks in the world.
