    Rab Gordon Sgian!!!

It arrived - something like 5 days to be delivered once it was ready! Incredible!

SG 350 - a beautiful piece. Fortunately, I had the foresight to have it customized completely for the friend it is a gift to - otherwise it might never leave my hands!!! Temptation is a terrible thing.

And I don't even get home to see it in person for another week or more! Three new kilts, a sporran, and this beautiful (it's a gift, it's a gift, it's a gift!) sgian made by a master.

    AAAAAAAAAAAAAAArrrrrgh! The jonesing, the jonesing!

That is a really nice Sgian, if it is not impertinant of me to ask, how much does a custom piece like that run?

I'll answer that in a private message as I'm sure that it would contravene the forum rules,

I would say, for publick consumption, the price of an artifact such as this is quite reasonable. It is not an everyday purchase, of course, just as a Rolex, mass-produced as it is, is not something that most of us would purchase for every day use.

Consider: the best materials are used, with many possible options for choice among rare and wondrous raw materials; a custom design is made just for each customer, with engraving, inlays, and choice of styles; and you may consult with the Master Craftsman on variations in design. Then your imagination is brought into reality through the time and effort of that Master Craftsman. You couldn't have a watch built like that for less than the price of a luxury car, but you can have a memento, for yourself or for a true friend, that can become a valued family heirloom.

Or, in other words, Awesome deal, dude!!!
