One of my stops this weekend (when I wasn't dodging falling Interstate ramps) was the San Francisco Zoo. I was sporting my new USAK PV US Army Tartan (but with a "standard" belt and sporran, not the pistol belt/ammo pouch).
Had three notable comments - the first from a young man (20s) who came around a corner, saw me, and said "Kilt! Cool! I like it!" The second came from a lady in her 60s who passed me a few times, and made a point of coming up and saying how nice it was to see someone in a kilt, how it was a "special treat" for her. The third (and most entertaining for me) was a young woman (late teens) who appeared to be a bit under the influence. She and her partner were wandering around the zoo, and she was using him for support a lot of the way. On one of her passes by, she gave a little giggle and did the "I'm waving but I don't want my boyfriend to see me waving" thing.
Some nice interludes on a beautiful day in the Bay Area!
