    At the Tartan Shop

I know that some of you have said before you wish you had a tartan shop nearby, well I do, so today at lunch I went by my local tartan shop. They did up the Isle of Skye kilt for me and had not seen it since I picked it up.

I ended up buying some canned haggis, I've never tried the canned stuff before it was fine for lunch fare, and a bottle of Irn-Bru, so it was a good lunch.

Anyway the proprietor of the shop really liked my freelander sporran and wanted to know where I got it, he even called one of the lassies out of the back to take a look at it. So I had to tell him all about my sporran, what struck me mas the fact that the workmanship of a freelander is so good it even impresses a gent who is around other quality sporrans all day.

It was nice to be in an environment where wearing a kilt was no big deal to anyone, and besides, the folks at the Scottish Company are a pleasure to deal with. I got off cheap today didn't order a new kilt, I think I will wait until the one I ordered shows up in a week or two hopefully before I order any more.

Bully for you, holding off a week or so before getting the new one going. This definitely grows on you.

Hard to go to a kilt shop without buying something, isn't it?

there was a "celtic" shop here in the triangle (in Durham actually), but it went out of business. they had alot of the stuff you get at the celtic vendor tents at the highland games. so they didn't have bagpipe stuff or hose or kilts or sporrans. still it was cool while it lasted.

i'd love to be able to find Irn-Bru locally. i love that stuff.

The cool thing about this place is it's 5 mins away from work and maybe 15 from where I live

    http://www.scottishcompany.com/

They tightened up my Isle of Skye for me as it seems I lost a bit of weight between the dead of winter when I was measured and now.

Very good people to deal with if you are looking for something traditional.
