X Marks tartan at Fraser & Kirkbright

Have I missed a thread somewhere? Fraser & Kirkbright are offering X Marks tartan in 16oz wool in the remnants section of their website at $25CDN per metre. The site says that they have 60 metres available.

Is anybody in the Toronto area up for splitting 8 metres with me? (This would avoid the centre back join.)

Is this maybe the stuff that had the damaged selvedge? I haven't been following all the closely, but seem to remember an issue with the first run.

If none of the other SOKS are interested, I could be (easily) persuaded to split 8 meters. Payment and pickup of my half could be done in person at one of our kilt nights.
But as I still have four meters single-width leftover from Run 2, I'll let those who don't have the tartan yet have a chance.

Edit: If this is from the second run, there was a slight bleed-through on the selvedge, but if you don't know it's there it's not that obvious.
Ask MacHummel or Kilted Stuart - they've seen my kilt, and I had to point out the "mistake" for them to find it.

It is probably the damaged last run of the Xmarks tartan that Steve from Freedom Kilts rejected in favor of a new run when they got the yarn in. There was damage to both selvage edges. It you do a search you might see photos of some of the damage that he posted for those of us that were in on the last run.

Thanks for the heads-up on the selvedge. I guess I did miss a thread, but this could be one of those opportunities that should not be missed. (I could always hem it. I'm short enough that I could remove one repeat & still have enough. (Finally a reason to be happy about being vertically challenged.) Otherwise, the pattern would not match with a kilt that had a good selvedge.)

Hemming was an option that we discussed when it was found out that the selvadge was damaged. In the end when Steve recieved the tartan and examined it closely he felt it would not meet the quality muster so he rejected it. Don't get me wrong hemming is a definate way to handle it.

So are we assuming this is run #2.5, shown here?
If so, depending on the amount of damage, it could still be used.
And as a side thought - 80 meters, divided by ... how many SOKS do we have now? The SOKS could quadruple MacHummel's workload overnight. (After the Mapleleafs are done, of course.)

There's about a dozen of us. I'm not interested, because if I bring home another kilt, the wife would... well it could be hemmed up three full repeats and I'd still be modest!
